Samples of screen-prinitng stickers

Besides offset and digitial printing, we can produce your stickers in screen-printing technology with our in-house screen-printing workshop. This opens a wide selection of materials, colors and varnishes, to meet nearly any customer demands for labels and stickers.

Neon-colors, transparent labels or bumber-stickers that resist sunlight for years are only samples of what we can do. We chose to print with colors, that will make your stickers resistant against weather and sunlight up to 10 years and longer without fading. Compared to offset and digital print, the screen-printing colors look more opaque, saturated and authentic.

Agile production process - robust results

Silkscreen colors do not fade, they are water-proof colors and despite few exceptions highly resistant against mechanical impacts.
Some special colors like neon-colors have a more porous surface that makes them more vulnerable to scratches. Still, for industrial requirements, transportation and signage screen-printing is the printing technique of choice.

On most materials, it ispossible to print directly on the surface itself, wich is not limited by inelastic materials. It is rather possible to print on plates, signs or any cunstruction that provides a flat surface for print.

Advertise with screen-printing stickers

When it comes to advertisement or merchandise, the bright and intense colors of screen-printing outrank the possibilities of offset productions. Luminous colors, translucent discolouration effects, authentic silver and gold colors, metallic tones, glow-in-the-dark colors and many more options give you a full toolset for creating remarkable and outstanding advertisements. Additional finishes include but are not limited to glittering lacquer, neon spot-colors, scratch-tickets and many more.

The opacity of screen-printing colors lets you create shop-window stickers that are well-visible from both sides, since the barrier-layers in the middle can be produced fully opaque even when it comes to direct light.

Artistic prints

Our printmakers have years of experience in printing. Many of them gained their skills as true handicraft, and still we still have a full equipment of professional tools to create handcrafted screen-prints. We cooperate with artists from local and worldwide and realise artistic prints for exhibitons and fairs.

Although screen-printing is not suitable for raster-prints, gradients or fotoprint, note that we did them. Feel free to contact us for special production requirements or artistic print projects!

Die Siebdrucker - our in-house screen printing workshop

Screen printing in a nutshell – how does it work?

Screen-printing is a technique where the color-pigments are printed through a mesh (screen) on the underlaying substrate (be it a sticker). The mesh is covered or open by a mask, letting color pigments through or not. This mask can be as simple as an additional layer, tape or – much more comon – created by a photosensitive polymere that is applied, masked and exposed to UV-light in a separate production step.

Although the basics sound simple, screen-printing is a very complex process. The fineness of the mesh (thread count), distance between mesh and substrate, the chosen blade, weather conditions and the mood of the printmaker influence the color coat, opacity of the color, fineness of print, dry-time, quality of full-surface coating etc.

In history, there are different approaches to screen-printing. In the early 1900s, screen-printing became a common prinitng-technique. In the 1800s, japanese stencil prints (Katazome) reached Europe and the US, nearly the same time when western printers started experimental prints with stencils and silk-meshes (screen printing is also refered to as silk-screen printing).

Hermann Pröll was one of the first manufacturers of color pigments for screen printing. As a chemist, he experimented with pigments and lacquers in the 1920s, searching for inks and pigments for trendsetting printing technologies. Today, the Pröll KG inc. is still producing print colors and an important supplier of our print workshop.
